Company Honored with Stevie® Award in 2016 American Business Awards

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nutrisystem, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRI), a leading provider of weight loss management products and services, was named the winner of a Stevie® Award in the Customer Service Department of the Year category in the 14th Annual American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations — public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

More than 3,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. Nutrisystem was nominated in the Customer Service category for Health Products and Services.

“We are so proud of our Contact Center team for winning this prestigious national business award,” commented Dawn Zier, CEO of Nutrisystem. “Our Contact Center is the epicenter of our iconic brand. As an industry leader, we take our role in combatting the nation’s obesity epidemic seriously and it is evident in the tone and level of professionalism in our Contact Center.”

“Many of our customers credit the humanity of our Contact Center to their success. Our team is talented, inspired and conduct themselves in a way that honors the importance of the customer’s weight loss journey. We look forward to continuing to operate with excellence in supporting our customers on their journey,” added Bill MacBride, SVP of Customer Care Operations at Nutrisystem.

More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. “The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.

Judges specifically commenting on Nutrisystem’s award submission relayed the following feedback:

  • “Your pride in your mission shows, as does the understanding of the customer service team’s place in your business model.”
  • “Great focus on the importance of the customer and how important personal engagements are with them.”
  • “Nutrisystem’s customer service department has two roles — the traditional role of customer support calls, and the role of advocate for both Nutrisystem and its customers, encouraging customers in their weight loss goals and establishing Nutrisystem as a partner in the journey. This balance is performed nicely.”
